Now that we are back at home and going over the memories that we will have for the rest of our lives, I want to thank you so very much for the wonderful tour to Sant' Egidio, Abruzzo, my family's home town. We cannot express how it felt to meet the cousins for the first time and to reflect on the lives of our ancestors. This was a very emotional and spiritual experience for us and our family. Sant'Egidio is a beautiful, unspoiled, simple way of life village with beautiful kind people and we are proud of our connected heritage.
We could not have accomplished this trip without you. Every detail was taken care of by the Abruzzo Tours, the only thing that we had to do was to enjoy our visit. Thank you for your professionalism, your friendly warm demeanor, for the way that you embraced our family (they liked you so much that they invited you to come back to visit them) for having dinner with our family, for being our interpreter, our tour guide, for pointing out all of the beautiful sites, for the beautiful ride, the rolling hills, the country roads on the radio, for the history lesson, for the beautiful snow capped mountains, but most of all ..thank you for YOU! We will never forget our time spent with you.
     With deep appreciation,

I want to thank Abruzzo Tours for the adventure of my life. The memories of the places and people that I saw and met will last a lifetime. Everything about the tour was spectacular. The medieval towns, the landscapes, everything is so beautiful. The daily itinerary was well planned and the pace was such that everyone could enjoy the sights and sounds of each place we visited. The high point of my visit was visiting the villages of my grandfathers. It was a childhood dream come true. And, if any thing could top that, I even met a cousin I'd never known.
Words are not enough to express the thanks for Abruzzo Tours. Our guide, Chiara, and our driver, Daniele, were just like relatives. Their kindness and attention to every detail and need of the group was exceptional. The food and wine luncheons were like holiday dinners of long ago. The people in our group made every day a blast. I've never had such fun with a group of friends. I very much look forward to making this trip again and again. I will urge people I know to go and go with Abruzzo Tours.
     Thank you,

My family and I want to thank Abruzzo Tours for a fabulous tour of Abruzzo. We couldn't have asked for better accomodations, scheduling, and our guide, Chiara, was excellent.
It was obvious that you planned extensively to make the inerary as close to perfect as humanly possible. The schedule was paced to allow time to enjoy the sights without becoming overtired and yet the days were filled with exciting and new opportunities to see the countryside and enjoy our scrumptious meals and wine tasting at our leisure.
In addition to the well planned itinerary, we were blessed with a wonderful group of travelers. Even the bus rides were fun with the Italian speaking participants leading the singing and interpreting for us. Our driver, Daniele, was also a professional. His driving skills were impecable. We were impressed at how well he could navigate the narrow streets and get us to our destinations on time.
The highlight of the trip to Abruzzo for us was our day in Calascio. With the help of our guide, Chiara, we were able to track down some of our distant cousins and locate our family home. Without her help, this would not have been possible. We are still reviewing the family information we received from the staff at the Calascio Muniicipal Buildingl. It is fascinating to discover how our ancestors made their living and to reflect on their courage to leave their home country and make a new life in the United States.
In summary we are most appreciative of the wonderful time we had in our grandparents' homeland and we will definitely return in the near future. I will recommend Abruzzo Tours to anyone interested in seeing the real Italy.

Our September tour of Abruzzo was the trip of a lifetime for us.
The hotels and sights we saw were outstanding, and the meals were divine. We particularly enjoyed the trips to the mountains and the medieval villages with their ancient churches and artwork. The group at the winery in VittoritoThe small size of our group made it possible to be somewhat flexible with our schedule, and we truly appreciated your guides' willingness to make adjustments. For example, the Stiffe Grotto was an option that we found fascinating. Stopping for a cappuccino in some of the small towns also gave us a taste of the culture there. Pescocostanzo was my very favorite village. Every street was like a work of art, providing me with photographs filled with flowers, old stonework, and mountain views. The artisans' shops were unique. L'Aquila itself is a wonderful home base for the tour. We had fun exploring the sidestreets and shops, as well as the museum inside the castle. The marketplace and passeggiata in the evening were also fun. And all around, including from the balcony of our room, the most beautiful mountains.
The pasta chitarra lesson was also unique, as was the Dolce Aveia factory tour, and the wonderful winery in Vittorito. The food and wine were wonderful, and the restaurants were charming. I particularly enjoyed the mountain food in Pescocostanzo, and, although I am not fond of unusual seafood, I still am happy to have had the opportunity to see what an authentic Abruzzese seafood dinner looks like. Our tour guide Chiara was the star of the tour! She is so warm, so thoughtful, and full of information. She became a friend, but she was always firm in keeping us on task when she had to be. John truly appreciated her stopping in Caporciano where his father was born. Daniele was an outstanding driver, and his van was always clean. Prompt, polite, and good-natured, he handled the traffic jam at the Rome toll booth impressively. We thank you and him for getting us to the airport the night before our flight. That is an outstanding plan.
     Thank you!

     Dear Abruzzo Tours
Rocca Calascio     We have arrived back home in Indiana and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you again for the wonderful tour that you provided for us of your beautiful Abruzzo region and especially of the town of my ancestors, Rocca Calascio. It was such a memorable day for me to be able to walk the streets where my ancestors walked and to see the church where they worshiped, were baptized and married. The genealogy information that you gave me was also much appreciated as it contained some details that I did not previously have. The whole day was perfect and one that I will never forget.
We will recommend Abruzzo tours to all we know who plan to visit Abruzzo.
     Grazie Mille!!

We can't thank you enough for making all of the arrangements for my family to meet our cousins in Castel Frentano. Your service was outstanding--picking us up in Rome, driving the 3 hours to and from Castel Frentano, and serving as an interpreter the entire day! You are not only a professional tour guide, but a warm and wonderful companion!
We have such beautiful memories of the trip. To be greeted so warmly by cousins we had never met--and to have a dinner in our honor that included a six-course meal (including a roasted pig accented with sparklers!), festive decorations and a poem written for our visit--truly touched our hearts.
We will recommend Abruzzo tours to all we know who plan to visit Abruzzo.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
