 SEPTEMBER FOOD AND WINE TOUR
- September 9-18, 2006
(10 Days, 9 Nights)
You will dine in renowned local restaurants or at country farms specializing in home-cooked dishes made with home-grown products. You will sample delicious wines and aperitifs, and visit olive mills for guided olive-oil tastings and traditional cheese-making farms still producing cheeses in the old ways. You'll try your hand at making traditional pasta (maccheroni alla chitarra, cavatelli, scrippelle) and homemade pizza, and see your creation cooked in a wood-fire oven, and will participate in cooking demonstrations conducted by the expert chefs.
The weather is great in September, an ideal time to travel in Italy. Also, you will take advantage of lower airfare rates. And to make your tour an experience you'll treasure for years to come, we offer an exclusive opportunity to visit your ancestral towns, and get in touch with your lost Italian family! We can arrange a visit before, during (there is one full day at leisure) or after the tour to see that dear, never forgotten place of your forebears, the landscapes that they always kept in their hearts, stone-paved alleys, and to perhaps meet, at last, the relatives of whom your parents and/or grandparents spoke!
